Real Estate Agents Need To Watch Out For Their Safety!

I saw this in the National Association of Realtors - Realtor Magazine.  Not sure how many have seen the article but it doesn't hurt to be repeated.  I had a similar experience when I was working real estate many years ago in New Hampshire.

Here's a link to the full article: http://realtormag.realtor.org/daily-news/2012/12/17/man-charged-plotting-attack-real-estate-agents#.UNC_69kXkI0.facebook

Stay Safe!

This is really scary to believe people like that are out there. When I first got in the business there was an agent at my office who was new as well. She was maybe about 26 and very attractive. To make a long story short she was suppose to take a buyer out to see homes. It turned out that buyer she had the appointment with ended up being picked up the night before her appointment by the police for raping another Realtor. We were all thankful she escaped that experience but felt really horrible for the previous victim. I think in light of everything that has happened recently we are all at a much more heightened alert with these types of things and of course we should be.

Pre-screening who I will be meeting at vacant rental properties is key and having their contact information on my smartyphone always helps!

No female agent should meet anyone alone in vacant properties. Slow down, think, pre-screen as Wallace mentions. Safety first!
